Privacy policy
We measure which articles people visit and how they move through the publication, without cookies or tracking readers across sites. Contact messages are kept separately.
Reading the site
No cookies are set. Fonts, images, styles and the analytics script are served from this domain. The web server does not keep access logs of readers' addresses.
We use page views, referral sources, device types and interactions with articles to understand what readers find useful. These statistics are not linked to contact messages. No analytics cookies are used, and the browser's Do Not Track setting is respected.
One exception, and it is yours to make: some articles carry a recording from YouTube. Until you open it the page shows only a still picture served from this domain — no request reaches YouTube, and there is no script here that could send one. When you open it, the player loads from youtube-nocookie.com and YouTube sees that request, including your address, as it would if you watched the recording on its own site. Every such block says so before you open it, and each one also links to the recording on YouTube if you would rather watch it there.
The contact form
When you send a message, your name, your email address and the text are stored on the publication's own server so that the editors can read and answer it. They are used for nothing else, are not shared with anyone, and can be deleted at your request: write to the same form and ask.
Links to other sites
Articles link to the official pages they cite. Those sites have their own policies; this one has no say over them.
